MIKE MILLS - GRAPHICS FILMS BOOK
With his recent exploration into film, it should not be forgotten that Mike Mills is one of the more important designers from the 90’s to present day. Back then before directing Thumbsucker some time ago, all through the years Mills has held a dedicated visual design release on MoWax records as well as fashioned the looks of Supreme, Sonic Youth, The Beastie Boys, Beck, X-Girl, and Air amongst others.
Not to mention his Beautiful Losers contribution and his co-creation of The Directors Bureau with Roman Coppola, a multidisciplinary production company that also represents Geoff McFettridge, Shynola, Sofia Coppola and more amazing creative minds and filmmakers. This Graphics Films book is his first comprehensive monograph that documents the bulk of his graphics, artwork, and films. The 176 page hardcover version is now available via Turntable Lab. Recommended.

PARKWAY DRIVE PANASKAN TERAS HANGGAR PANCORAN
9 Februari 2009 pukul 7 malam, Teras Hanggar Pancoran dipenuhi oleh orang-orang berbaju hitam yang hendak menyaksikan konser salah satu band yang cukup punya nama di scene metalcore yaitu Parkway Drive. Sekitar pukul 8 acara dibuka oleh Final Attack, band hardcore asal Jakarta dan memainkan beberapa lagu. Setelah Final Attack, berikutnya giliran Down For Life, band metalcore asal Solo Jawa Tengah sebagai special guest kedua yang perform. Vokalisnya selalu komunikatif dan melucu dengan penonton tiap jeda lagu. Disini crowd terlihat sudah mulai memenuhi venue. Setelah memainkan beberapa lagu berikutnya ialah Paper Gangster sebagai special guest terakhir. Band yang juga beraliran hardcore ini memainkan beberapa lagu. Aksi mereka mengingatkan akan band hardcore luar negri Earth Crisis.
Setelah Paper Gangster, saatnya untuk Parkway Drive, band yang beranggotakan Winston McCall (vokal), Ben Gordon (drum), Jeff Ling (gitar), Luke Kilpatrick (gitar), dan Jia O'Connor (bass) ini memulai setnya dengan lagu "Boneyards" dari album terakhirnya Horizons. Penonton langsung membuat moshpit. Tata lampunya cukup menarik karena sangat mengikuti ritme musiknya. Parkway Drive membawakan lagu-lagu dari album terakhirnya Horizons seperti "The Siren's Song", "Carrion", "Horizons" juga album Killing With A Smile seperti "Gimme AD", "Anasasis", dan "Guns For Show, Knives For A Pro".
Winston McCall berkali-kali meminta penonton untuk membuat circle pit. Penonton berteriak senang saat lagu lama mereka "Smoke 'Em If Ya Got 'Em" yang berasal dari album lamanya "Don't Close Your Eyes" dan juga masuk kompilasi Warped tour dibawakan. Banyak aktifitas yang terjadi di moshpit, seperti headbanging, crowd surfing, bahkan ada yang hardcore dancing seperti 2 steps atau air punch dan spinning kick, sehingga mengingatkan kita akan aktraksi penonton di Hellfest.
Ada hal yang lucu sebelum Parkway Drive melakukan encore, yaitu sang MC acara, Allay bercanda dan nge-rap diiringi oleh Parkway Drive dan ternyata mereka sangat komunikatif, bahkan bisa berkomunikasi beberapa kata dalam bahasa Indonesia. Parkway Drive lalu membawakan "Romance Is Dead", dilagu ini penonton makin menggila apalagi saat bagian breakdown. Parkway Drive mengakhiri set-nya dengan "Mutiny", penonton memenuhi depan panggung apalagi saat Winston McCall turun ke barikade mendekati penonton. Penonton tampak puas meninggalkan venue meskipun diluar hujan. Dan kalau dilihat dari banyaknya pengunjung yang hadir, bisa dibilang konser perdana dari Prisma Nusa Enternaintment ini cukup sukses.
